R.I.P. Cort and Fatboy 2003-2012

Mike Russell & Ryan McCluskey, the pleasant pair, the cordial couple, the delightful duo, holding court on subjects such as: Ryan’s history as a video game voice-actor, and examples of his versatility with accents, getting work in London during the Olympics, and doing his own stunts in a car he probably shouldn’t be driving. Mike & Cort review Brave in a spoiler-free manner, and come away rather happy at the return to form from Pixar after whatever Cars 2 was. A discussion on Pixar’s trip into Disney Princess-land, and whether they successfully made a movie about a girl figuring out what it means to be a woman, in the way previous Pixar movies are often about boys figuring out how to be men. Other topics inlcude: Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter, Bobby’s Next Generation reboot blueprint, Can’t Stop the Serenity, and Cort’s judgment of a recently minted NERDFIGHT law regarding Captain Mal Reynolds and Han Solo.

Ryan’s accents sounded like Tommy Wiseau! His Scottish was spot on, though……

Oh, and any chance you guys can try and use the theme to Benson for your outro music at some point? I loved that show. :D

The Benson theme gets played pretty frequently. Keep listening, it’ll probably pop up sooner rather than later.

Does it? Maybe it’s on days I don’t listen to,lol. Cool, it’s a great theme. I like the whole classic themes as outro music deal, keep it up :)

Since Monday is the 30th anniversary of the release of Blade Runner does anyone know if it is being shown anywhere in the Portland area? I was hoping it would get mentioned in today’s movie news since I’ve never seen it on the big screen.

For whatever reason, screening rights to Blade Runner have gone bye-bye again. I don’t know why (and there was no reason given for the last time it happened, either) but it seems the Cinerama in Seattle will be the last movie-house to screen a print of Blade Runner (digital or otherwise) in the immediate future, and they screened it like 2 months ago.

If you got a blu-ray? Spin it. If you got a laserdisc? Fire it up. If you got a DVD, go for yours. But I don’t think you’re gonna get to see it in a theater anytime soon.

Ok thanks, I thought that might be the case. Looks like it’s time to plug the old Xbox HD-DVD player back in!

You know what, Bobby? You are now my favorite internet person, and you now have my vote for Editor of Hollywood, all based on your agreed fan-casting of Christopher Eccleston as Jean-Luc Picard.

I’ve long thought that Eccleston was a great actor, and he is still my favorite Doctor. The man doesn’t get enough notice as an actor, and he needs to be notices, as he has the potential to be big.

I can’t take credit for that – you gotta go read my blogpost. That suggestion was one of Pantozzi’s really good suggestions (She’s got quite a few more) from her original article.

Contains all of my picks (plus tweaks to the show formula) and the link back to her original post at The Mary Sue.
