Leia Weathington’s had some misadventures with hair removal. Byron Beck’s had some misadventures in the ladies room. Thus begins a fairly educational show, in fact. Not only do we learn what behaviors from “Supernatural” are and aren’t appropriate to try in real life, we learn about the latest batch of celebrities moving through the Portland area like herds of special snowflakes, eating bran muffins dropping their kids off our uber-liberal colleges. We learn there’s no discernable difference in storytelling between “Days of Our Lives” and the 15 current X-Men books or however many there are. We learn a little about art theory, how it applies to the astonishing “8 ballpoint pens and some patience” portrait storming the internet, and get our toes wet in the fascinating world of art swindles. Byron Beck. Leia Weathington. Enrich your life.

“Picasso is third tier,” says the man who thinks Shakespeare isn’t all that great.
Aw, c’mon now. I thought I made it pretty obvious I was goofing w/ that whole tier thing
If I really thought that, don’t you think I would have seized the first opportunity to take five minutes putting not just a foot but my entire, Nair’d lower body in my mouth?
That ballpoint photo still freaks me out. the only thing that makes me think it’s actually a drawing is the hair. The hair is just not quite right. Everything is grouped and fairly evenly spaced. I think the phrase is ‘deliberately random’. I agree with Leia, that skin tone is the thing that blows my mind. It just doesn’t make any sense. It would be like Michelangelo carving an anatomically correct statue with a flathead screwdriver and and his forehead instead of a hammer.
I could never remember if I’d ever seen Crimson Tide because scenes from that movie in my mind kinda blur into The Hunt for Red October, which I’ve also seen, and last saw around the time I think I’d seen Crimson Tied. This would be, like, a decade or more ago, mind. This show did confirm for me that I had in fact seen it, because I remembered the Silver Surfer arguement.
I used to follow the madness that was As the World Turns’ gay storyline some years back. Honestly, those gay storylines have probably been the best thing to happen to soaps in a long time.
Did we get closure on that Nair story? I feel like there was some sidetracking and something got lost in the glorious chaos that followed.
Byron, I think you’re thinking of Chris Evans (who’s been both The Human Torch and Captain America) cus he has a gay brother, Scott, who in fact had a gay storyline on the soap One Life To Live.
Now if James Marsden does have a gay brother then I have to move to the US. Or wherever in the world such a special creature would live.
I drove celebrities for a few years at a local film festival. The people were so interesting, friendly and grateful to have someone who knew their way around behind the wheel. All of the famous folks I drove were very nice. Funny how chatty people get when they are riding in a car. It was a really fun gig!
Thursday is my new favorite day of the show. Leia calms Byron’s penetrating scaryness down. Seriously he disturbs the shit out of me. Go Leia! The balance of the two is pretty awesome, at least to me. And in case you can’t tell, this is the first Thursday with her I got a chance to her.
(Also, suck it Courtenay, buwahaha)
*chance to listen to her
