Courtenay Hameister is a little anxious today. A little nervous. A little pressured. Her variety show suddenly has a bunch of competition, and the new season starts in a couple weeks, and the stakes are super high, and that is, of course, EXACTLY like going to elementary school with the wrong Trapper Keeper. And once we end up there, well, there’s no telling where our magical conversation will go, just like there was no telling yesterday that the President was gonna do an AMA on Reddit, or that Bobby was going to invent an awesome superhero for the second day in a row, or that we were going to find out about a super-secret enclave of politicians who pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to go to summer camp every year and perform skits in front of giant owls. It’s a magical adventure! Join us.

For more on Bohemian Grove-Them: Adventures With Extremists by Jon Ronson. Super funny, ethnographic exploration of nutcases and conspiracies.
Back in the 90s there was an animated adaptation of The Dark Knight Returns… sorta. There was an episode of Batman The Animated Series where a bunch of kids got together to swap stories they’d heard about Batman, and one hands them a version that is The Dark Knight Rises.
The plot of the episode (Kids talking about Batman, none of them actually being terribly close to right), would be reused a decade later, not nearly as well, in Gotham Knight.
Err, “hands them a version that is The Dark Knight Returns“.
Awww, I wanted to hear more of Kermit’s Lost Boys song
Favorite line of the show: “Bob Doyle always gets his nut on the flush!”
