R.I.P. Cort and Fatboy 2003-2012

Mike Russell closes out August with magic. First, a quick recap of Tim Burton’s career, and where Batman slots into a ranking of his films. Then, a career retrospective of Clint Eastwood’s, in order to get the taste of him losing an argument with a chair out of our mouths. That leads to the show jumping into a TARDIS, and visiting an alternate dimension in which The Dark Knight Returns is getting made into a movie – and Eastwood plays Batman. How does the rest of that movie fill out? It’s not the only fancasting indulged – we come up with the complete cast of The all-female Expendables. It’s just one of the 15 or 16 foolproof moneymaking ideas spun out of thin air by today’s show, and that’s all before Mike reviews Premium Rush and Lawless. It’s enough show to last you the three day weekend.

Joan Severance, Tia Carrere and Brigette Nielsen as a trio of deadly models turned assassins.

Tia Carrere and Brigette Nielsen are essential additions.

Also what the hell let’s throw in Helen Mirren and Judi Dench as retired British black-ops pros. Mirren will tote a Kalashnikov in every scene in which she appears, regardless of the needs of the scene.

That is one of the greatest things ever. The Eric Roberts box is pretty awesome too.

I felt the same about the Eastwood speech, just sad. Great show, thanks for the show notes.

Don´t forget the end-level boss: Kathleen Turner (imagine the VOICE!)

Yes. Also, Karen Allen should turn up for one scene just to crack a guy in the jaw.

This must happen.

Late to the game here, but just to reassure everyone, the movie voices Mike does in this show are COMPLETELY WRONG. Sorry buddy! Wrong wrong wrong. Tom Hardy sounds like a badass.

(And yes, Wooderson gets naked in Killer Joe. Half the cast gets naked, actually. He’s not slimy, though; more sort of glistening.)
